Reading, Thames Lido
Thames Lido offers Mediterranean tapas in its restaurant overlooking the newly renovated swimming pool heated to 26 degrees.
People can spend a mini-break at the lido with packages starting from £60pp for a treatment, swim, and tapas.
Cheltenham, Sandford Parks Lido
Nestled in Sandford park, this lido offers separate children’s, swim slides, and a 50m long main pool both within close proximity to each other.
In 2012 ahead of the London Olympics, this lido was offered to the Malwai Olympic team for training.
Located in the sunny city of Brighton, Saltdean offers both a big main pool and a children’s pool for the perfect family day out.
With its now modern feel, the lido was renovated before reopening in 2017, now featuring a heated pool and cafe.

One of the last remaining open-air salt-water pools, Droitwich Spa Lido has been named as one of the best lidos in the UK.
First opening in the 1930s, it has since been renovated with a modern, fresh feel featuring a 40m pool, children’s wet play area, sun terraces, and a cafe.
Devon, Plymouth, Tinside Lido
Overlooked by Plymouth Hoe this clear water lido is in a perfect spot to enjoy the summer sunshine and semi-circle-shaped pool.
Situated in the middle is a fountain, great fun for children, along with a sun terrace and pool cafe, it’s open from May to September.
Glamorgan, Pontypridd, Lido Ponty
This lido comes the perfect fit for a family day out with an inflatable-filled fun pool available, paddling area, and playgrounds on-site.
It also has lane swimming divided for the competitive swimmers and still features its original green wooden chaining rooms from the 1920s.
Clyde, Scotland Gourock Pool
The oldest outdoor pool in Scotland, this lido has been around since 1909 but wasn’t heated into years later in the 1960s.
The saltwater pool also includes diving boards and scenic views as you practice your lengths in the 33-meter lido.
Hope Valley, Hathersage, Peak District
The heated outdoor swimming pool is set in the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District visible when you’re swimming in its 28-degree temperature.
A small cafe is situated on sight offering hot drinks and snacks, with plans to bring a night swim whilst live music is being played.
